I know that sense of pride! My son went to NYC and saw this homeless girl begging for money. He was afraid to give her money because he feared she use it for drugs...so he took her to a nearby restaurant...bought her lunch...sat down with her and had lunch with this poor disheveled
soul. I was proud of him because I think I'd be too embarrassed to sit and eat lunch with her.

My mom recently put me in my place on this issue. She was dropping me off at the bus station.
