(12,700 posts)Given that the outcome of an ice arrest could be being sent to a concentration camp in a foreign country, people of good conscience are being forced to make choices -- obstruct ice actions if they can or live with the knowledge that you stood by while someone was sweep into a system being run by a lawless regime.
My sister used to teach in Oakland, CA public schools. People who are still there are putting together strategies for protecting students and parents from ICE. And they all know they could end up in jail. It is a matter on conscience.
I am sure her former colleagues are not alone.
If the 47 regime had any interest in beefing up enforcement against undocumented people commiting crimes, they would afford people the due process they are owed. In denying rights, they are forcing Americans of good will to take a path of civil disobedience to prevent the blatant violations.
I hope that this case results in an injunction against the appalling "guidance" empowering ice to invade court rooms. More on that here:
