8. Alberta is not as right-wing as a lot seem to think.

The NDP party (left of centre) held power from 2015 to 2019 and a recent & popular mayor of Calgary was recently selected as leader of the party.

The Progressive Conservatives (right of centre) now in office are generally IMO not that much farther to the right politically than the US Democratic party. IOWs there would be a good chance that a US state of Alberta (ugg, sorry) would vote Democratic.
