2. I can't read the NYT article, but I think the title of this OP is ambiguous.

NYT - Finnish Leader Warns the Kremlin: 'You Don't Play With President Trump'

Of course we all know that they (Kremlin) are "playing" trump as a fool - and succeeding.

But does this mean that the Kremlin should be afraid of trump in some fashion?
I think it can't.
