there are even quite liberal Baptist churches - not part of the Southern Baptist Convention .

Most of my family (older members) are Baptists the younger generation (relative concept) have either gone agnostic or joined mainstream liberal denominations like the Presbyterian or Episcopal church. My parish priest still can't get over the fact I sit in the back pew regardless of attendance (a Baptist thing).

Here are a couple of Baptist jokes I recall.
