8. NJ is a free for all State, which gives the governor a free hand to act as dictator

Some states require a replacement from the same Party, not NJ, other States do not let the governor appoint anyone and run a crazy thing called an election to pick a US Senator, it's radical, but it works for us here in Oregon.
Basically it does not matter what anyone but Christie thinks, that's the way NJ likes to do things.
