8. Those of us who lived through the second wave of feminism, that of the 1970s, are

particularly happy since it seemed for a while that we were going backward. But now I see a different perspective and I feel it is only a matter of time until the old sexism is outgrown and replaced by so many achieving females coming of age.

I was just attending my stepdaughter's ordination as a Reform rabbi last weekend and I cried tears of joy when the president of her rabbinical school gently placed his hands on her head and on her shoulders and when she read from the Torah. And I'm not even Jewish (nor any religion), but this was just too overwhelming!
