Had Obama simply continued not being Bu$h, then he likely would be remembered in our history as one of our greatest presidents.
However, he chose to continue Bu$h's worst abuses, and has added many of his own. Between the two of them, these soulless clowns will be recalled as those who, finally, brought totalitarian government to the United States.
President Washington did warn posterity of this risk, but we chose not to listen - preferring the illusion of security to any meaningful right of individual conscience.
As president George Washington warned in his Farewell Address:
The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all the departments in one, and thus to create whatever the form of government, a real despotism. A just estimate of that love of power, and proneness to abuse it, which predominates in the human heart is sufficient to satisfy us of the truth of this position.
