His rough style WORKED in that situation.

So you should NOT assume that that rough style is what led to THIS situation.

Some subordinates did something wrong. They're fired.

See, I'm no nonsense. I act swiftly.

I know the media will try to make more out of this than necessary ... manufacture a scandal ... its what they do.

I'm tough and I can handle it.

That's why the good people of NJ elected me in the first place.

(I'll be very surprised if this is not the basic argument he makes)
