I feel like that all the time, my shrink thinks being black caused my anxiety attacks. Just being watched everywhere you go gets to be a burden, i feel guilty walking into Nordstroms with a platnum card and a pocket full of cash. Every 2 minutes it's ' can i help you find something?' Over and over until i just lose it a yell, 'i will let you know if i heed help, go away!'

I feel bad for white people in America in about a hundred years or so. How the people of the future will use the past to justify the backlash against the descendants of oppressors. How they will use prescidents made today to gerrymander districts to disenfranchise them as the counrty gets browner and browner. Things change, power shifts, and people do harm to others out of revenge or anger.
I sometimes think that the one drop rule that was their pride will be their downfall. It only takes one generation to make you black, one drop, how long until the majority of white folks become brown people. My husband looks white, white skin, straight hair, and will get enraged if he is called white. He does not identify with them even when his hair starts turning blond in the sun.
My uncle is white but he considers himself black because he got about one drop from my grandfather who did consider himself white, blond hair greeneyed and swears he's the blackest man on earth. He married my husbands sister and they have three blond haired, green eyed, white skinned BLACK kids. They do not consider themselves white either. One drop, ya know.

I noticed that when that kid recently went on a shooting, stabbing, driving, murder spree, many white folks here were screaming that he wasn't white, he was asian. They wont even claim their people unless they are pure white, sad really. Black people claim aaaalllll of ours even if they are half, a quarter, one drop, we do not care. If your great great great grandmother is black, welcome to the family.i think sometimes that i should tell them and help them get some perspective, but i do not bother. Better for my grandkids in the long run as they wont be as small of a minority as we are now.
Especially since there are so many mixed marriages, more kids for us to claim. I'll take em alll.
