In reply to the discussion: Two years ago today, America’s Profit-Driven Health Care system killed my only son. [View all]woo me with science
(32,139 posts)83. If you transform doctors into technicians who merely follow insurance company flowcharts for care,
you can justify paying them like technicians.
Ditto for gifted, creative teachers, whom the large companies seek to replace with cursorily trained TFA bots or computer programs.
The goal is *always* to suck profits to the corporate owners, the One Percent, even though they are never the ones who actually provide the services.
Skilled and educated employees of all types have learned this. Doctors will, too. We are being deliberately transformed into a nation of wage slaves for a small group of the very wealthy. Educated professionals who have ignored what's been done to teachers and other occupations will soon learn that they are not special; the oligarchs will be coming after them, too.
I am glad you had a careful and observant nurse involved in your care. We have followed our primary physician to three different practices, as he keeps leaving because they won't allow him to spend the time with patients that he knows is necessary to do his job well.
It's going to be a huge job to get the corporate corruption out of this country. The tentacles are are so broad and deep now that they penetrate every aspect of our lives.
