Republicans don't. They only care about the power it confers and using it as a means to an end - personal profit. yes, we hated Bush/Cheney...but it wasn't based on phony reasons like birth certificates or being a Muslim or any other nonsense that the Right resorts to with Obama. It was based on reality: stolen election, 9/11, Bushtaxcuts, illegal war in Iraq, another stolen election, Katrina, busted budgets, economic meltdown....in other words real bases for criticism. Obama's domestic record is incredible, given the total lack of Republican support - starting at the highest level of Republicans - Boehner, Cantor, and McConnell. He's garnered the respect of the world - something Bush never did. He's extricated us from Iraq and winding down Afghanistan. Republicans will never give Obama credit, but history will.

But Democrats never sunk to the level of these elected Republican idiots, much to our collective frustration. They were way too nice in their words/actions wrt Bush/Cheney. Today's Republican Party are clueless about governing and decorum. Their agenda is: what Democrats want, we oppose. And taxcuts to fix everything....which makes things worse. So they have no serious ideas on how to fix the structural economic/social issues, therefore they have to divert and divert attention by resorting to personal attacks on Obama that are irrationally founded on race and religion or making shit up like West calling progressives, communists. Simply a disgusting Party that's totally corrupt and incompetent.
