(25,586 posts)48. I am saddened to see posts from DUers who
are uncomfortable with straight people. I understand, I guess -- but it still brings me down.
My gay friends enrich my life and bring me great joy, and I hope I do the same for them. I suppose it helps that we all embrace nerd culture with sufficient enthusiasm so as to render all else secondary.

I question that too. It's not as if gays on the whole are any more "self-destructive" than heteros.
