Goes to the polls today in the most important election in decades. At stake is the current right wing party getting re elected for a 3rd term.
The party of bashing the poor. There is a serious debate here about child poverty and the income gap where our current leaders have refused to sit down with opposition parties to discuss poverty.
Kind of ironic that the PM and 1 other minister is hell bent on destroying the welfare system even though it was there to support them and got them to where they are today.
The PM loves to remind us how his mother raised him on welfare and what a success he is, but forgets to mention he made his millions on wall street as a speculator.
The corruption in this government is astounding from the minister of Justice resigning for leaking information to a right wing blogger to attack the opposition, to the PMs lies about promoting his friends to key positions, spying and the true state of the economy. He proudly states how he got us through the GFC with a "Surplus" but fails to mention we are at record debt because he borrowed 80 billion.
Employment is "Down" but the number of people getting kicked of benefits are up.
The law society has gone to the UN about undemocratic laws passed.
Tax cuts for the rich, What a surprise.
