I have my suspicions that "just being a decent human being" is screened out via psych profiles just as intelligence is screened out via I.Q. tests.

I disagree that stupid people can be good cops, you appear to think so, but cops require good judgement more than most, especially since they are so well armed and empowered to do whatever they want if the fiction in the report says the right things (reports that are never questioned I might add). Stupidity does not make for exceptional judgement in life or death decisions no matter what you may believe.
