In reply to the discussion: A Pro and Con for Bernie. [View all]hootinholler
(26,449 posts)21. All I can offer is the main reason I stand with Bernie
Consistency. The man is a rock in what he stands for. His entire political career he knew where he stood and could articulate it plainly. He backs up his assertions with facts which means that when he explains a position he can tell you why he holds it. Over his career, he's held positions that I primarily agree with. He is principled with integrity and my hope is that enough people can relate to that to put him at the nation's helm.
I expect to see a sane republicans for Bernie movement in the general election.

I think that the mass media are employing a lot of visceral conditioning.

This is a crucial point. We've seen that propaganda conditioning used against Obama 24/7

His campaign for our two votes is about issues, and he apparently already won that campaign.

Why did Dean not win on the issues? Why has Kucinich never won the issues?

That's a minor way to measure IMO. The persons stand on issues and consistency on them is paramount

The last I heard, he had 175,000 people wanting to volunteer (probably higher now).

Definitely. I have a better feeling about his campaign than I did Howard Dean's.
