In reply to the discussion: A Pro and Con for Bernie. [View all]True Blue Door
(2,969 posts)37. This is a crucial point. We've seen that propaganda conditioning used against Obama 24/7
since the day he became a viable candidate, and it's been going on every minute of every day since then. It's still going on. They still put skin-darkened images of him scowling beneath negative news stories that only marginally relate to the President.
Undoubtedly they would do the same to Bernie if he starts to become enough of a threat, and he doesn't yet have a counter-image to that kind of visceral programming.
But for the moment the media may actually help him, because they want the Democratic primary to be more interesting than a coronation. Every minute of that grace period should be utilized to the fullest, to prepare for when the media turns predatory.

His campaign for our two votes is about issues, and he apparently already won that campaign.

Why did Dean not win on the issues? Why has Kucinich never won the issues?

That's a minor way to measure IMO. The persons stand on issues and consistency on them is paramount

The last I heard, he had 175,000 people wanting to volunteer (probably higher now).

Definitely. I have a better feeling about his campaign than I did Howard Dean's.
