This is something I've advised folks to do for a long time: When something particularly whackadoo comes down the pike, write it down, date it, have the person saying it initial it and give their estimate of when it's going to happen. Put it away, and then bring it out when they thought Obama was going to take away all guns, or dress everyone in burquas, or exile everyone to FEMA camps, or whatever nutty idea was occupying their mind.

This could also be a teachable moment, you know.
