their support for Trump's wall and tariffs. The fact that he also supports right-to-work and regressive taxes does not penetrate with them.

What they don't get is that wages will never go up as long as there's an oversupply of labor, which now seems eternal with automation and jobs going overseas.

They don't ever seem to mention automation but they have lots of complaints about globalization and the 'new world order'.

Of course, progressive countries have a much better record with wages than the US has so it may be possible to help the working class with the right policies.
