The "Righteous" (les Justes) were all role models of courage at a time when the whole world was literally falling apart. They risked their lives on a daily basis. Most significantly, IMO, most did not use guns of any kind. Their weapons were their wits, their intelligence, their common sense, and their compassion for other human beings. "Do unto others ..." was their guiding rule.
