However, there was also a populist movement in the 1930s (though it wasn't called "The Populist Party"; to the extent it had a name it was "The Ku Klux Klan&quot that influenced the Democratic party in the 1930s; key figures there include Huey P. Long, Charles Coughlin, and Strom Thurmond.
