Great point. While my familiarity with the legendary AK-47 likely pales in comparison to yours, it seems as if there are many weapons that are capable of firing a single shot, as was the case in the example you provided.

In response to a poster's comment that said (referencing the shooters AR-15), in effect, sometimes you need the firepower like that.

So in the example that you provided, of the teen defending his home with a single shot from an AK-47, is that the only gun that would have provided his security ? Or is it just a convenient coincidence and any gun would have done the job ?
