No, it doesn't make sense, at least if you mean the organizations rather than the individuals. Islamic terrorist groups typically target ordinary people (not to say that gay people are not ordinary) with the goal of instilling fear that would affect the society as a whole. Selecting one particular subgroup is not effective. They want to target groups that that they believe as many people as possible can identify with.
