For example, only real fringe-dwellers, the hardcore anti-government, anti-tax, nascent "sovereign citizen" types, dispute that our mental health system suffers from decades of systemic neglect, and that decay has contributed significantly to many of these incidents.Yet the decay continues and nothing is done.

A hugely contentious area like significant additional gun regulations doesn't stand a chance.
