17. It's hard to keep track of the senseless gun violence

these days. Orlando is not a particularly violent or dangerous town, or at least it doesn't normally feel like one.

Colonial Plaza, where Christina Grimmie was shot, is an old movie theater venue once know for its comfy "rocking chair" velvet-covered seats. Now it's where the small groups and performers come to play. We've gone to see the Cowboy Junkies, Ani DeFranco and Paula Poundstone there.

Pulse is just around the corner a couple of street away.

We're in danger of becoming numb.
