Act Blue and credit card fraud [View all]

Something was wrong with my credit card statement, so I went back through the transactions and found a donation to Act Blue at the end of July for $550. I'm a retiree on Social Security. I don't make donations of that size to anybody. And I don't donate to Act Blue--only to specific Democratic candidates. I just got off the phone with my credit union and made a fraud claim. I'm left with a question: if someone's going to steal my card number, isn't it odd that it would be used for a political organization? Fraudsters generally use if for themselves. Any thoughts?
