The storyline of the show was that after being completely cleared of a rape charge after a rape kit was finally processed, a man goes on to actually commit rape - prompted by being repeatedly raped himself while serving 16 years for a crime he didn't commit.

The point of the plot was how innocent men can wind up in prison when rape kits are not processed, and how their time in prison can turn them into criminals. It demonstrated how the failure to process rape kits for years, even decades, not only leaves the guilty on the streets, but can lead to the destruction of TWO lives: the innocent rape victim and the innocent man unjustly accused.
