(19,369 posts)Here's the kicker though: Trump is allowing many Americans to let the rest of us know who they really are. It's rather disturbing, but as they say "sunlight is the best disinfectant".
I run around in a pretty diverse group across the political spectrum, and up to the point of Trump's nomination those on the right griped and complained, but if they had hatred at their core they kept it well hidden. Trump's blatant misogyny and bigotry has somehow made it acceptable in the minds of some of our fellow citizens to allow their own feelings of intolerance and hate to become part of their puplic display. Well that's actually ok as far as I'm concerned because now I know with whom I am truly dealing with and can act accordingly.
Maybe some day these people will come to their senses and realize that they were taken by a conman and grifter, and who knows, maybe they'll come to understand that the GOP could give a bucket of spit about them, but in the meantime I will automatically discount the opinion of anybody who supports Trump.
