Having been a medic for 15 years, I can recognize these as
signs of extreme stress. Exactly what I felt, for instance -
in coming upon an accident where a good friend was killed.
can't eat
can't sleep,
feel like "kicked in the gut"
feel like "someone died"
That's the reason demonstrations are going to be successful for some time -
a large number of Americans have been physically activated by this
catastrophe.
Giving people something to do at this stage is very important, so if you don't have
a local group organizing yet, do so.
