10. She is incorrect- a clearance can be reinstated for 24 months

When you have a current background investigation but leave a position requiring a clearance your cleanrace moves to a current/inactive status and can be reinstated if you go into a position requiring it for up to 24 months.

After 24 months it is lapsed and you start over.

I see his retirement listed at August 204 but am not clear if that is when he left his last job or his actual last date of active service. If it is when he left the job it could have taken several more months for gen retirement process and using up all his terminal leave it could have extended to November or December.
