(37,648 posts)They don't have that thing in the brain that tells them, "Wait a minute. That doesn't sound feasible that Hillary Clinton killed a DNC member. Is that true?" Or "Wait a minute. IS firing the guy who is investigating the President possibly obstruction of justice, whether Trump is guilty or not of what is being investigated?"
It has nothing to do w/IQ. They live in a rightwing bubble. They know only rightwing people, live in a rightwing area, watch only Fox News, read only Breitbart and Facebook fake news, and spread the fake stories around to each other, keeping out anything that doesn't support their already conceived ideas. No new data. Nothing that smacks of impartiality. They are ANTI-this and ANTI-that.
The left has its own version of this, but it is far less in intensity, stupidity, hatred, and locking out contrary views. A progressive may actually call out a fake news item, even if it's supportive of progressive ideas. Truth and facts matter. I have never seen a rightwingnut do that.
(There is one area where the left is blind and will not admit problems or fault, in my experience, which I hesitate to identify, lest this post be removed for criticizing the Dem Party. But in most areas, there is a spectrum in which Democrats fall, where they will agree that a less liberal viewpoint might be okay, as long as basic tenets and rules are still maintained. Not so with Trumpers. It's all or nothing. No Muslims. Everything about the Clintons is bad. Obama bad. Michelle bad. Trump great. There are no gray areas.)
