(146,262 posts)And that's even worse. We're lacking ambassadors, now, in most countries, and the Assistant Secretaries for most regions and specialized functions remain to be appointed. The State Department is running on empty, with almost nobody in charge. The Trump administration has not even named people for most positions, and there seems to be no movement in the Senate to confirm the ones he has named.
It's a terrible mess, and that's just the beginning. All of the Executive Branch agencies and departments have the same situation. They canned everyone who was an Obama appointee, but have yet to even start naming people to take their places. There is no direction at all in most of them.
The goal appears to be to shut them all down by not having anyone in charge. Nothing gets done without those second-level managers. Nothing.
