9. To me, it's not so much to whom the republicans are flocking; it's why.

I was appalled when a childhood friend was nearly giddy in 2008 about Sarah Palin. She confessed, "She looks like fun. I like her spunk." I realized we could not agree on too many fundamentals thereafter.

And wasn't it similar when California had the gubernatorial election in 2003 and too many people voted for Arnold Schwartenegger because his brand was well known and his acting career was confused with governing ability. We saw how badly that experiment worked.

Now we have Trump. TV is fun again. We can't wait to see what comes out of Trump's mouth today. Whom did he insult today with impunity? Stick with him and we'll be the Number One Country in the World indefinitely. We can go into any country and steal their natural resources. We'll get "fair" treaties because Trump will bend the will of the other parties.

This is getting ridiculous with why not only the base but now establishment republicans are lining up to support Trump. The people are the threat to democracy, not Trump.
