If you ask people if they favor the goals of socialism, they overwhelmingly agree. But if you apply the dreaded s-word, they're horrified at the thought. Reagan and his big corporate backers largely responsible for preaching that evangelism. Reagan thought any collective way of helping each other was socialism. Libraries. Environmental protections. Schools.
