...the "D" next to the names is how committee chairs are determined. Manchin's "D" is important as it gets Dems closer to having the Senate and being able to select Chairs.

I would take Rand Paul and Cruz as D's if it meant that the Democrats could control the Senate and determine Judiciary selections.

Politics is not a nice game. The sooner we learn that we are going to have to compromise, the better off we'll all be.
