(10,500 posts)the election was over. Usually we hear all about it when a candidate is running a bad campaign DURING the campaign. And the media relentlessly jumped all over her, bashing her every chance they got. They would have loved to say she was running a crap campaign, if it had been true. But there was no basis for it. People are just using her defeat to say whatever they want about her.
She was a great candidate who ran a great campaign. But the election wasn't winnable because the FBI made it their mission to torpedo her candidacy. Comey intervened repeatedly, and to devastating effect each time. The email story wasn't "unhelpful"--it dominated and defined the campaign. 2016 was the year that the FBI and State Department Inspector General's office set out to define a major party candidate as a criminal who got away with breaking the law, and they did this in order to help elect a Republican.
