Nothing came out of their first expensive summit. Other than to give Un a celebrity adulation on the world stage. I can see why Un would want a repeat of that. But why Trump?

Is it a kind of stubbornness that he wants to rewrite the ending in his favor this time?

Or, as I suspect, he wants to sit in a room, with a friendly interpreter, in private, in a meeting that will remain secret. A meeting in which he will offer an end to sanctions if Un will go into partnership with the Trump family on a yuuuuuuuge beach front resort and golf course...the likes the world has never seen! This is I think what he wanted all along with that last poorly produced video he showed him last time. But this time, he will speak in private, to try and iron out a deal which was purely about making money for each of them. Trump will also present it as an opportunity to be seen as opening up his country to investments and respect from the international capitalist oligarchs. Forget about the kind of respect associated with freeing political prisoners, or curbing human rights abuse, or opening up press freedoms etc....Trump has no beef with that, its all about how much $ he can make out of the deal.
