I tend to be somewhat skeptical that it isn't a hate crime, given the current climate. They probably should have said, "At this time, as the motive remains unknown, it does not appear to be a hate crime. That may change in the course of the investigation." Clearly he burned it down for some reason, unless he's a pyromaniac with a history of random arson.
