Christianity is often of great value to Dalits who have less than human status within Hinduism. For them, conversion to Christianity has often been a liberative thing.

Also, Christianity is a very large religion - it reflects both the good and the bad in human nature. American white evangelicals with their hateful version do not get to define what Christianity means for people everywhere - including people in India. And the hateful ones here are Hindu (not all Hindus - just those following Modi's playbook).
