to Jean Carroll's defamation lawsuit about her rape claim?

Why is the NYT's treating Reade so differently than Carroll, who has filed a defamation lawsuit against Trump and is demanding his DNA to see if it matches some male DNA on the dress she was wearing the day she was assaulted?
