(3,255 posts)Back when his business investors wanted some cash out he tried to take his company public. the unexplained "bonuses" paid out to staff caused SEC to deny going public. It seems the bonuses were approximately equal to their Republican donations. The feds grind very slowly, but they do grind. Their conviction rate is over 90% last I checked. It seems to me that it would also involve tax fraud since the "bonuses" were taken out of gross profits illegally. personally I think the feds are being overcautious because they are afraid the prosecution might be called by some a partisan "witchhunt". I also think unless the head of the organized crime organization is brought to justice we will have no justice. I'd wager he got a lot more than a handshake, a thank and the job as Postmaster Generalyou from the politicians he funded so maybe bribery is in there, too. It's like picking up a rock and finding the motherlode of slimy creatures. That's one of reasons the R's are willing to go to any length to hold onto power. It has nothing to do with philosophy and a whole lot to do with staying out of prison.
