(6,033 posts)... you are not a real progressive according to the far left. They also confuse Twitter for real life and they think a black celebrity with a verified Twitter account represents the African-American community. If you look at Brooklyn you see Adams did best in working class black neighborhoods. Maya Wiley did best in gentrifying areas of Brooklyn. That means her "rethink public safety message" appealed more to white hipsters than to the people she claimed it meant justice for. The left talks about being an "ally" when the people they claim to advocate for reject their ideas they are silent. As Adams said
people on social media don't pick a candidate people on Social Security pick a candidate.
In terms of Adams though he gives off the impression to some people that he would change his message based on who is talking to at that particular moment. I am by no means his biggest fan but I'm absolutely willing to give him chance. He it's certainly better than some of the clowns the far left supported.
I'm a native New Yorker though I now live in Chicago. I probably would've supported Kathryn Garcia as my first choice because she seem to have the most executive experience running a city agency. Local government is very unsexy and sometimes what you need is a boring technocrat.

Bring unsexy back. I hope Adams is a "baldy".
