I respect the need for change and desire of those new to the process to accomplish needed change quickly in light of eminent threats. However I have too often seen the pattern wherein "Four legs good, Two legs bad" becomes the mantra and dogma of the party or leading group within it.

I don't know this new mayor, or the new slate of city councilors. I haven't lived in NY for some time. I do recall the Attica rebellion and the ruthless attack which ended it. That hit me nearly as hard as the Kent State Massacre. It cannot be a good thing to have such an avowedly confrontational situation at the beginning of term. It leaves little room for movement or constructive results. So far as I have heard the new mayor is Not in the mold of DJT. He does seem to be certain of his ground as does the new Council.
