Most of us, if we had strong opinions about how the world ought to be run, would write some tweets, or put up a web page, or at most self-publish a book. But these assholes, being rich and Christian, think their opinions need to be carved in stone for all time. So then, since their self-righteous ignorant opinions are not sufficiently conformant to the self-righteous ignorant opinions of the people around them, the debate decays into vandalism and destruction rather than anybody making a reasoned argument.
If only the two sides could have come together in civil debate, they would have realized how much they have in common. Such as racism.
