we actually do them right in illinois. no for profits, no religions.
there are many great 1s here in chi. an award winning stem school is around the corner from me.
my son worked in a u of c charter in bronzeville. local school, took all comers. great track record.
the teachers union has 1, there are arts and science schools. theres even 1 called namaste, where they teach non-violence and meditation.
public schools should get whatever they need. but 1 size never did fit all, and the local public school is not an appropriate education for a lot of kids.
this tactic works cuz a whooooole lot of parents dont love their local school.

Yes, the uniforms prevented clothes competition stuff and saved us parents LOTS of $$.
