11. "Violence is what the police use. It's what the state uses."

There is an excellent article by Rebecca Solnit in the book titled, "Occupy: Scenes from Occupied America" on violence. The quotes here are from the article. "The state would like us to be violent." It would justify further violence on their part and they are much better equipped for it. The corporate-owned media would like us to be violent, they would focus only on our violence and detract from our cause.
