...senior counsel (for the Thomas More Society) Mary Catherine Martin released the following statement.

"We will not allow Missourians to be deceived into signing away dozens of current laws that protect the unborn, pregnant women, parents, and children," she said.

That is deception and it's paternalistic. She is saying their organization doesn't trust the citizens of Missouri to understand the words written on a ballot. I don't see her saying, the Missouri public is too stupid to vote for any other thing that is currently on that ballot.
What makes this different?

On edit: What specific current laws does Missouri actually have to feed their poor kids, or fund their education department?
