WAUSAU – The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation will be serving as lead investigator on the Sept. 22 removal of the absentee ballot drop box by Wausau Mayor Doug Diny.

The state-level investigation was confirmed Thursday morning via email by the Wisconsin Office of the Attorney General. The drop box was returned to its regular location on Monday.

Marathon County Supervisor Randy Radtke, who represents District 10, was one of the residents named in the request.
