A transactional jackass will only attract transactional "gold diggers". On some level, I think he knows that, so he uses wealth and power to get what he could never get otherwise.

So now as leader of the free world, he has more power than he could have imagined, but still no one likes him and they never will. I think that particularly makes him a very dangerous man considering he has the nuclear codes.
