And we need to redefine "resistance" as something more than posting our discontent, or even marching. (I count myself among the guilty and beaten, despite having marched and written.)
The following, titled "Victor Laszlo's Blog," is a wry humor piece from the New Yorker from a month or so ago--but although funny, its message is hard-hitting with respect to what passes for "resistance" these days. Read the whole thing, but I offer a few choice paragraphs:

December 8. . . . Heard a good remark about Hitler yesterday. When it comes time for him to build the Führers Official Library, it will probably be all marble and glitz and swastikas and giltwith only one book! (The point, of course, is that he does not read books. Probably he hasnt even read his own!)
Through humor we will prevail in our struggle.
December 11. Can you believe the latest from Hitler? Im almost beyond being shocked at anything he does. I will say this as an established fact: Hitler is unqualified to be Führer. He is a disgrace to the Führer-ship and should resign. If he refuses, we must resist by . . . by simply resisting. As a matter of fact, Im resisting right now, out on the hotel veranda.

December 16. Got back into the fray by going around singing the Marseillaise in various public places, to show defiance. And Ive partnered with a local comedian who does a screamingly funny Hitler impersonation. If we can just achieve a bit wider notice, the battle for Europe is as good as won.
